I don't know if the smallies are in the bay yet, but even if they haven't started the largemouth in that Bay rank second to none. They feed heavily this time of year and really school up. I can't wait for the big brownies to come in.

Its too early for the smallmouth. Talked to a buddy who was there this past weekend. Although, the largemouth are smashing.

I'd say in another month the smallies will be slamming in the bay. I cant wait to get my arm ripped off throwing jerkbaits!

Went to the Bay yesterday with my dad and friend. We caught 40 largemouth and 3 pike. It was a little disappointing, but since the front moved in we were happy with those numbers. The fish were reaction striking. Most of the fish were caught in 3-5 feet of water, but there had to be weeds. If the weather had been another 10-15 degrees warmer I believe that we would have caught 70+ largemouth.

Disappointed with 40+ fish???? I have only been up there a few times and I have never done that well. Sounds like a great trip to me.

you need to head up in the spring lunker. If you hit the right day then you will really do well. it is not that uncommon for guys to catch between 80 and 100 fish. Soon the smallie will be in making beds and you can really have a good time.

3 of us went to Presque Isle on Saturday. We managed to boat about 20+ smallies and probably 25 largies. We fished for smallies most of the time, but the largies were really eating. The fish aren't on beds yet, but they are getting ready. We caught most of the smallies on jerkbaits and tubes.
